The Imo State House of Assembly has impeached the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, over what the lawmakers tagged “misconduct and constitutional breach”.
However, this was in disobedience to an order of the Imo State High Court which had on Monday restrained the seven-man panel constituted by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Paschal Nnadi, from further action until the determination of the substantive case.
THISDAY correspondent who was at the Imo State House of Assembly complex to cover the day’s proceedings observed that all journalists were barred from covering the proceedings except Government House reporters.
There is however, indication that the governor wants to replace the impeached deputy governor with his kinsman, Mr. Callistus Ekenze who is Imo head of service.
