Jonathan will return as President, say Tukur, Alamieyeseigha

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diprieye Alamieyeseigha, on Thursday in Abuja said President Goodluck Jonathan would return to the office in 2015 because, according to them the party is very much on the ground in the country.
They stated this during the inauguration of the  national PDP Councillors Forum, where Tukur premised his optimism on the about 6,500 Councillors seats controlled by PDP in the 774 local governments and the fact that PDP remained the only party that fielded candidates in all the wards in Nigeria during elections.
“Our party is a ruling party and Jonathan is our President and President of PDP and coming on the platform of our party. PDP is the only party that fields candidates in all the wards in Nigeria during elections,” Tukur boasted.
Alamieyeseigha advised LG Councillors to work hard “because if you are out of government, there will be no job for you again. In fact, your wives won’t be at peace with you. There is no other party like PDP. They can gang up, but we shall win.”
The PDP chairman said, “You are almost 6,500 Councillors. We have over 80 per cent of Councillors seats. President Jonathan is the leader of our great party. We will continue to strengthen our party and continue to claim our leadership position because a strong party brings strong governance and a strong governance brings a strong economy and a strong economy brings a strong development for the benefit of our teeming population in Nigeria.
“You must take this assignment seriously. It is our demand from you and our intention to ensure that Jonathan is our own, right from home to the village, to the local governments, the states and zones.
“We will carry our Jonathan back in 2015. I want you to be resolute and determined because our party believes in justice and fairplay. Our party believes in reconciliation without any confrontation; our party believes in rebuilding based on equity and justice; democracy, not dictatorship; election not selection and consensus not imposition.”
